Steps to Apply as an Incoming International Exchange Student

Step One
Your institution’s exchange coordinator must complete a nomination form before you submit your MSU admissions application.

Step Two
Complete an application for admissions with MSU’s Office of Admissions and Scholarships or the Office of Graduate Studies. For undergraduate students, international exchange students apply to MSU as transfer students. Graduate international exchange students typically apply as unclassified unless you are a degree seeking student. Exchange students are required to pay an application fee. For undergraduate students, the application fee is $60. For graduate students, the application fee is $80.

Student Fees
International exchange students are exempted from paying tuition at MSU, but they are required to pay the following fees:

International Undergraduate Application Fee: $60
International Graduate Application Fee: $80
International Student Fee: $100
Exchange Student Fee: $200
Capital Improvement Fee: $50
Student Activities Fee: $5
Chest X-Ray and Blood Test: $140
Transcript Fee: $9.25 (exact pricing for order depends on options selected)

MSU Transcript Policy
International exchange students are required to follow the university’s transcript policy to obtain a copy of their transcripts. (Link the words - university’s transcript policy - to this link http://www.registrar.msstate.edu/transcripts/ Requesting a transcript must be made online and a fee will be associated with obtaining a copy of the transcript. The fee is $9.25 per copy of the transcript, but exact pricing for orders depends on the options selected.
