On-Campus Housing

Resident Hall

ELI students may stay in on-campus residence halls while studying at MSU.

Get everything you need to survive while studying English:

  • convenience to campus and to dining facilities
  • comfortable living accommodations
  • kitchen facilities
  • a helpful staff
  • a chance to decorate your own room
  • the opportunity to meet many new English-speaking friends

Each residence hall room contains the following:

  • beds
  • closets with drawers
  • desks
  • chairs
  • cable TV
  • phone hookups (no phones)
  • small refrigerator / microwave oven
Housing Room

Tips for living in on-campus housing:

  • Contact the ELI and request on-campus housing. Applications for on-campus housing are included in your acceptance packet.
  • Read the housing contract when you arrive. The contract is through May, and you are bound by this contract (unless you end your studies).
  • Buy bedroom linens (blankets, sheets, pillows) and bathroom linens (towels).
  • Housing costs vary depending on the residence hall you choose.

Off-Campus Housing

There are over 30 apartment complexes in Starkville. Prices vary according to the proximity to the campus, room quality, and the size of the apartments. Rental rates range from about $475 to $750 per month. Students who wish to rent an apartment should come to Starkville three to four weeks before classes begin in order to find a suitable apartment.
