Creating International Collaborative Agreements

Thank you for your interest in exploring ways to create collaborative agreements with universities and institutions outside the United States. The International Institute will serve as the facilitator and liaison between the partner organizations, Mississippi State University's Provost and academic departments to develop agreements that will enrich our student learning environment and strengthen our strategic research and outreach initiatives.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a general declaration between MSU and a partner organization that establishes a mutual understanding of our desire to work together and identifies areas of potential collaboration. If you are interested in creating an MOU with a partner organization, please see the MOU Development Procedures and contact the International Institute with the information requested.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is a more specific document that is developed between MSU and a partner organization that details certain components of a cooperative agreement, such as student exchanges, exploration of joint research opportunities or other collaborative efforts. If you are interested in creating an MOA with a partner organization, please see the MOA- Student Exchange Developmental Procedures or the MOA - Cooperative Research Developmental Procedures (link to pdf) and contact the International Institute with the necessary documentation.
