Please join the Japan Outreach Program in welcoming Mr. Tye Ebel, a JET coordinator, from the consulate-general of Japan in Nashville who will be visiting MSU’s campus this week to talk about the JET program. The discussion will be held on Wednesday, February 17 in the Lloyd-Ricks-Watson Building, Room 210 at 1 p.m.
The JET program, or Japan Exchange and Teaching program, is an initiative sponsored by the Japanese government to promote internationalization at the grassroots level by bringing young, college-educated individuals to work in communities throughout Japan. Through the exchange, the program seeks to enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between the people of Japan and those of other nations, as well as enhance foreign language education and promote international exchange at the local level through the fostering of ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth alike.
